From reporter to designer

Before transitioning to UX Design, I spent over a decade working in Communication as a reporter and digital content producer. But despite how it might seem, the shift didn’t feel drastic, because UX is all about communication at its core.

Every great UX project starts with research: talking to people, asking the right questions, and uncovering insights. And who better to investigate, identify problems, and tell a compelling story than a journalist?

Beyond applying communication skills in my daily work as a designer, I’ve also had the opportunity to host and moderate a variety of events and panels, both internally and externally, as well as guest lecture at Hyper Island on usability testing on two occasions. It’s always an exciting challenge—one that still makes me a little nervous but leaves me even more fulfilled.

One of the standout events I hosted was What's New?, an annual industry event at Bontouch where trends and innovations were shared with an external audience. I also moderated the SXSW Highlights event, where colleagues who attended the renowned festival presented key insights and takeaways. Both events concluded with panel discussions, which I had the pleasure of leading and facilitating engaging conversations with experts from various fields.

Returning to Hyper Island as a guest lecturer was another rewarding experience. Having once been a student there, it was incredible to come back and share knowledge on usability testing, guiding the next generation of designers and hopefully inspiring them as much as I was inspired during my time there.

Me on a team

What excites me about teamwork is the chance to bring positive energy and foster a strong sense of collaboration. Colleagues often mention the fun, dynamic atmosphere I help create. Whether I’m leading user research, facilitating workshops, or working with cross-functional teams, I focus on building an environment where everyone feels inspired to contribute, share ideas, and work toward a common goal. The design sync sessions I hosted in my previous job, for example, always started with a different game—always inclusive, always fun. It helped everyone relax, connect, and set the tone for a more open, creative discussion.

I’m the kind of person who’s always willing to step up and represent the team when needed. Whether it’s presenting work, advocating for our ideas, or tackling challenges head-on, I’m committed to doing what it takes to support the team’s success.

Outside of work

I love staying active in my free time—you’ll find me at the gym, running, ice skating, rollerblading, or dancing. Movement keeps me energized and clears my mind. I especially enjoy skating or running around Stockholm with no set plan, getting a little lost, and naturally finding my way back.

I also love unwinding with a good book or podcast, and to me, there’s nothing better than cooking a great meal while sharing a bottle of wine with friends.
